Sometime in December last year, the news was finally broken that CEO of Konvict Music, Aliaune Damala Badara, aka Akon has signed Wizkid, Tuface and Psquare to his Atlanta based music record label.
Akon who was in Nigeria made the disclosure at the launch of a new energy drink in Lagos.
He also tweeted online “In Nigeria with my brothers about to take over Africa with @2faceidibia and @wizkidayo Big up to Psquare”
Banky W also went online to confirm the deal as CEO of EME records. He tweeted “But!!! last night was kind of Epic. Bigups to the EMEazzyyy + Kovict muzic runz. Shoutout to everyone that saw the evidence”
If you recall, in September 2011, Wiz Kid had been performing Don’t dull at an event in the UK where incidentally, Akon was also billed to perform, immediately, Akon fallen in love with the song "Don't dull"
After the performance, Akon had promptly walked up to Wiz Kid to announce that he would love to do a collaboration with him and that was how the deal was struck.
The deal of 2face and P square, came as a result of their successful album launch last year that saw their respective music careers burn more intensely.
In August last year, D’banj of the Mo’hits record struck a deal with Kanye West’s "GOOD Music", now Akon and Wizkid.
